Common Ground-Dove in Borrego Springs

To go along with yesterday's photo of Verdin is this obliging Common Ground-Dove. It also was photographed at a little botanical garden in "downtown" Borrego Springs. The Anza-Borrego Desert Natural History Association (ABDNHA) Nature Center is at 652 Palm Canyon Drive next to Carlee's Restaurant. Park in the lot between the two and visit this little garden for 20 minutes or so to view desert plants and birds.

Besides Common Ground-Dove, this little park frequently has other desert birds such as White-winged Dove, Verdin, Cactus Wren, Greater Roadrunner, Black-tailed Gnatcatcher, and Costa's Hummingbird.
