Snowy Plover at Imperial Beach

Snowy Plovers can be found year round at the mouth of the Tijuana River mouth. They are usually found right at the mouth, about a full mile hiking the beach south from end of Seacoast Drive, in Imperial Beach.

Though usually frequenting the dry sandy upper beach (where they nest), this single bird was working the wrack line on the wet beach near the water line.
